CFW Tracker Service

Options
Does anyone know what this is, please?

C:\Program Files\ Clatity framework \ Tracker \ Bin \ cfwtracker.exe

It wants to access the internet, but I'm not sure.

Any ideas gratefully accepted. :)

If you upload the file to http://virscan.org/ it will be scanned by dozens of different anti-virus programmes, but first you should read http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/why-we-dont-trust-devil-mountain-software-and-neither-should-you/31024?!!!!!mantle_skin;content. The third page specifically mentions this software and why you'll probably want to uninstall it.
  • An interesting link there "Geoffx" - thanks. However Microsoft, and latterly also Google, also undertake such shenanigans.

Ultimately you can only trust software that you created yourself (using compilers etc that you built). As that is impractical for most of us our best weapon is sharing information on fora like this one.

Whilst I'm no conspiracy theorist (well maybe just a little) I am certain that, on the insistance of the NSA, Microsoft included a "Backdoor" Windows Vista & 7. Obviously I have no proof but food for thought perhaps.

You can't even absolutely trust a piece of software you've written yourself. The Delphi development system was infected with a virus last year that propagated into applications written with it. The last time I looked at the Chrome browser it was initiating an encrypted connection to Google's servers. I wasn't logged into any kind of Google account and find that completely unnacceptable. And then there is always the extreme possibility that your operating system has been Blue Pilled...
