Hi
Looking for a blazing fast 4GB USB 2.0 memory stick on the market. Came across this one from Sony:
http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=USM4GREX&site=odw_en_GB&pageType=Overview&category=SM+Micro+Vault+Excellence
Has read/write speeds of 26/19 Mbps...anyone know of any faster ones? (in the 4GB bracket) Also this stick comes with data compression software built-in, Sony claim it can give you up to 3x the original memory capacity so in theory it would be possible to store up to 12GB. Not cheap at around £88 but for the specs is it worth it?
Thanks in advance

Hi
Yes, speed is important to me as i normally transfer huge files (>0.5GB). The one at play.com is good value but read/write speeds are not mentioned, so would be a bit hesitant in buying that one.
Thanks anyway

This USB flash disk seems quite fast:

25MB/s is not too shabby at all!!
The Corsair Flash Voyagers are quite fast and if you have around a hundred and twenty quid you can get an 8gb one too!

However the 4gb seems to be faster than the 8gb one!!

If it maintains that speed, then half a gig takes 26 seconds, even if the play one was half that speed, personally I'd live with twiddling my thumbs for another 26 seconds, than spend another £40+ on it.
You could get an external 320GB usb hard disk for that sort of money, and it is faster than a flash stick.

(if a little bigger).;)
PS if these files are mpeg video's, mp3's etc, you won't be able to compress them.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
I got a Philips external 2.5" drive for 40 quid from Staples! A bit smaller than the 320gb drive methinks!!:)0
