faulty sandisk sd card

Hi We recently bought a new 4gb Sandisk SD Card for our holiday in Florida. We took 2500 phones and the day before we came home the card corrupted. We have tried several photo/computer shops and cannot access the pictures we are now being charged £75+ by a company sandisk recommend to retrieve the photos. However Sandisk are refusing to pay for this and are saying go back to where we bought the card and get a refund on the card value £9.99. As these goods are faulty and have not provided service expected I feel sandisk pay to retrieve photos. Any advice please on rights and liability?

Well first i would say that you should be complaining to where you bought the card as it is them who you have a contract with and them you would also submit any claims to.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
