Acer laptop and USB Dongle

I’m trying to get a USB dongle for bluetooth to work on my Aspire 5920. Does anyone know anything about this? It says the parameter is incorrect. ?? The dongle downloads it’s drivers and recognizes blue tooth devices, but they can not function as the mic or speakers. I can’t figure it out but suspect that the VCM software installed by Acer might have something to do with it. The machine was supposed to come with bluetooth, but it says no device when the button is pushed.
Thanks
