new boiler - no compliance cert

I had a new boiler fitted in April, but have not had a compliance certificate issued for building regs. I have been on to the company who fitted it on numerous occassions with no luck. Both the bloke who owns the company and the engineer who installed the boiler are gas safe registered but i feel that gasafe are also fobbing me off:mad:. I am under the impression that this is a legal requirement?

any advice welcome

All new boilers should be registered with building control. This can be done with a few different organisations, Gas Safe is just one of them.

Without this certificate, you could have problems in the future should you sell your property.

I can only suggest calling trading standards, if no one else appears to be helping.

I was recently told that the installation of a new boiler had to be notified to gas safe who would issue the certificate for building contro, and that it was a legal requirement too. And furthermore that this had to be done within a strict timeframe of the boiler being installed. Without this we would not get building control approval.

But on checking the Gas Safe register website, its very vague on what is required in pretty much all respects.
