I think maybethe merger was to give recipe ideas for things to take with you\ eat before hand.
I'd go for HM food , before, during and after and take something sweet with you such as treacle toffee or caramels to stop the urge to go to theburger van. If your friend wants to let him get his own.

We are off up to a local bonfire which starts at 630pm, this one is free entry so we`re very lucky. We shall eat before we go probably around 5pm and i`ve got the breadmaker on at the moment to make some rolls.

I`ll fry off some onions and pop them in the fridge and cook some sausages this afternoon and then when we get home which will probably be around 830 we are going to get the garden incinerator out and burn all our old bank statements and reciepts :D The food will be fine with a quick blast in the microwave and will still be tasty as it was cooked earlier.

We`ll eat the sausages in rolls then with mustard and onions whilst standing around the fire in the garden and watch everyone elses fireworks :D

We are super skint atm as DH doesn`t start his new job for a while but we`ll still enjoy it. The local bonfire has a bar and we usually have a drink there as they serve in plastic glasses to take out to the bonfire but we have a can of beer each to take up so hubs won`t feel like he`s missing out.

I was toying with the idea of making the rolls up and wrapping them in foil after nuking them and taking them with us but have decided against that as they may not keep hot for long and i don`t want to carry them around.

Try eating late and having the snacks later - unless you are going to be out all night and then i`d definitely go down the flask of soup route, very enjoyable on a cold night outside and it will keep everyone warm.

    Have a good time!

The only reason I asked how much the bonfire tickets were was because I assumed that it must be really expensive if you didn't want to spend any money when you go there!
    January GC: £64.81/£80.00
    February GC: £24.60£80.00

well, the plan kind of worked & we didn't spend anything at the bonfire - I just forgot how big some people's appetites are - what would do me for 3-4 meals has barely fed the two of us for one meal!
