Hi all.
I am thinking of moving my BT line and package away from BT. My current contract ends on the 1st Dec this year and wanted to know how the best way to move away from them without any downtime. Do i need to move my line etc before the end date.
If i move before the end date do BT charge a fee for this

- you can move your line from bt to another provider this is often the job of your new provider to sort out, it might be worth ringing BT's customer options department on 0800 800 030 as they will discuss discounts to keep you their customer if your contract nearly up, i'd, you never know might make it easier and save the hassle of switching if they can match a deal from elsewhere?!0

You won't have any downtime to speak of-migrating your calls/broadband via a MAC should normally be seamless-maybe 30 m downtime.
You'll need to give BT 30 days notice anyway, so your service can't end before 5/12 (NB: your contract does not end, it just reaches the end of it's minimum term and becomes a 30 day rolling contract-unless you are on a BT auto-renewing 12m contract, in which case you need to tell them that you do not want that renewing before 1/12.)No free lunch, and no free laptop
