I think Ive got internet ex 8 and it was fine until monday but now wont open at all. I looked it up on google and it said (in part) to go to control panel, internet oprions then advanced tab but when i click on internet optins nothing happens either. i need it for a couple of things that will only work through IE so is there an easy repair option I can follow?
My OH upgraded AVG to 2011 trial version then backtracked to the free version so dont know if thats anything to do with it.
thanks

Everything should be doable on other browsers too - so definitely try doing what you want to do in firefox etc.
Meanwhile, I have no clue why internet explorer is playing up but would suggest ruling out malware by running Malwarebytes:
Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.46 - FileHippo.com
Download and Install. UPDATE tab, click CHECK FOR UPDATES. Then run a FULL SCAN. REMOVE everything it finds and post the log here.
If everything is clean, I would be tempted to remove AVG from the computer via the control panel, then running an AVG removal tool to remove all traces:http://www.avg.com/download-tools
and finally installing a better, free antivirus such as:
Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE Antivirus
If things are found on the computer ignore the previous paragraph. We shall advise you on running hijackthis...0 -
