Home insurance that includes mobile phone cover?

Hi all,
I am moving house and need cover for my contents. However, I am really keen to cover my mobile - an iPhone 4, but I am confused as to whether this is covered or not within some insurance quotes, especially on some of the "mobile phone cover" options. For instance I was a few clicks away from going with Bank of Scotland, when I read that they only cover mobile phones for up to £250. I bought my phone outright from an Apple store and paid £599. Obviously £250 cover is not enough. Any suggestions please? I'm going nuts trying to find the cover I need and I need to do it by tomorrow as we are moving in on Saturday. Many thanks for any ideas!!

You would want to cover the item under the persona l posessions section not standard contents section (personal posessions is an optional extension of contents). If the BOS policy limits cover under either to £250 clearly you need to buy from a different insurer. Buy enough pp cover to protect everything you and those covered want to take with you - inc clothes, bags, headphones, cash, wallet, camera etc.
Limiting the amount cover for mobile phones is unusual but is only going to become more common in the future IMO - home insurers are getting stung by iphones getting accidentaly lost or damaged, and a general rise in AD to small electricals - particulary as new generation items come out and the old ones arn't arround any more (so insurers have to replace the old model with the new one).0
