newbie to amazon

hello, i wouldnt touch paypal with a bargepole and have been looking around for some alternatives.
ive came across music magpie and fatbrains but they offer peanuts and gumtree just doesnt attract enough traffic. thus im thinking amazon is the way to go. honestly ive never sold anything online without it being cash and collect only so i am a fish out of water when it comes to deivery and p&p charges. ive got quite a few books that i want to sell (the heaviest being taschen 25th anniversary fashion).
so i just want to know if anyone could tell me about their expeirences etc of amazon

thanks:)

You can only sell what's in Amazons catalogue. Amazon the postage fees are set so especially on heavy books you have to take into account any extra postage costs on your price. The fees are higher than ebay. Also Amazon disputes are always in the buyers favour and make Paypal/ebay look like they are playing at it and are known to refund buyers without items being returned.

Saying that though I have sold and got good prices (better than ebay) on collectable books some text books and rare CDs

Amazon sales are unpredictable and peeps using automatic pricing system can easily undercut you. At least you can list stuff and forget about them. P&P is fixed. I've only had one claim for INR, but always get a CoP from the PO.
