Help re: Spa voucher

Back in august i bought three vouchers from Lastminute.com when they had the £10 promotion. I recieved them and put them to one side as being pregnant at the time knew I wouldn't be able to use them till after the baby was born which wasn't far away.
Any how I took them out last week and phoned up to book in only to be told that I couldn't redeem my voucher now as there was no appointments left before the expiry 2/1/11. I was then told that I'd lose the voucher and my money, because it stated on the voucher that it was subject to availability and that the voucher cannot be extended past the expiry date.
I don't see this as fair and consumer direct said that I could try and say that its a breech of contract because they are not allowing me to fulfill the voucher.
any ideas on how I could word this? any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you contacted lastminute for a refund? or at least what you should do.
You should get either a refund or the service.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Was there a booking lead time on the voucher, or any recommendations on how far in advance to book in the terms and conditions?0

Last minute say they are acting on behalf of someone else, and the booking time was 4-6 weeks but when i tried booking there was double that to go till the expiry on the voucher.0

I had a similar problem with the Lastminute voucher - phoned up the spa in the middle of September, the earliest midweek appointment they had was in December, and if you wanted a weekend it was in January. Luckily, the Spa (Park Inn Hotel Manchester) I phoned was very good about it, and said they would honour the voucher anyway for me to use it on the first weekend in January as I had phoned to book in plenty of time.
Clearly this promotion was heavily over sold by Lastminute and the spas did not have the capacity to meet it.0 -
I booked this for Thoresby Hall, and they say as long as I book and send them the vouchers before the expiry date it's fine. My spa day isn't until February.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
