Hi all,

I am posting this for a co-worker.

They bought a ticket for their son for £40 per month expecting it to be used for the full school year, however for his birthday just gone he was bought driving lessions and a car by other family members (and passed!) so is now driving to school.

They contacted TGBC who ref them to T&C:

Subject to the provisions of this clause 10, You shall not be entitled to cancel Your Ticket at any time. We shall not give refunds and You shall be liable to Us for the full value of the Ticket purchased.

This seems a touch unfair, but i do understand they have paid for a yearly ticket however they are also paying by DD as such paying per month too so caneling from this point on would be no skin off their nose.

Also £40 per month for a service you are not using is a lot of money!

Any ideas?

  • No,

The ticket is annual ticket; paying per month is a payment option and doesnt give right to breach the contract. They are liable to pay the full amount and if they breach this could find themselves paying extra costs.

    This is what i thought.

However its a touch harsh... only changing schools, moving house are acceptable reasons...

What if a child (heavens forbid) dies... £40 per month anyway? I'm only joshing.....

    Thank you anyway
