Hi all, wonder if some someone could help.
I've got a 42" Samsung Plasma TV(18m old) that seems to have developed a fault over the last couple of days. When you try and use the remote control to change the channel or volume it does work. I then have to switch Tv off/on and it will work fine for about 6 go's. The batteries seem ok and the infa red light on the TV flickers when you press the buttons.
Any ideas
Thanks

Sounds like the same sort of tv as mine.
If it has touch sensitive buttons on the bottom right hand side of the tv, try cleaning this area.
Sometimes they get greasy or dirty, (usually chocolate from my daughter on mine), and it makes the tv act as if they are being pressed.0 -
You could also try fresh batteries, if you haven't already done so?!0

Have read somewhere about capacitor problems in some Samsung TV's.

I bought an "elite" Samsung tv UA40D8000 from a shop for almost £1300. It had a clear fault on the screen from the top to the bottom of the picture. I tried to talk to with Samsung, but their customer care and attitude were shockingly poor considering this is one of their "elite" products. I would not buy it or anything else from Samsung again. Poor quality control of their products and poor customer service.
Despite this the shop have been good so I might swap to another brand. The LG and Sony's look decent. Any one have any similar problems?0
