As far as I know, everything vanishes after six years... Or at least it should!
Bear in mind however that although you may have defaulted six years ago, your bank may not have registered the default six years ago (although they should!).
Once the bank registers the default they cannot keep registering it. (they may update it annually but once the first defualt vanishes after six years they should all vanish).
If you've been in an IVA, you can insist that all defaults register back to date of the start of the IVA.
Another thing to bear in mind is that good habits vanish just like the bad ones... So it's good practice to keep up to date with your other repayments like mobile phone bills and so on - every little helps to create a better picture of you as a debtor.
After an IVA ends, it's these little touches which will help you to improve your credit rating until you can get something more substantial like a credit card (which you should pay down monthly and don't be running up more debts!)Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?
