They're harder to find than you'd think, aren't they!

    There's some here:

This one looks really lovely for little ones. Now my little boy is old enough to begin to understand, I'm quite tempted buy one and help him with the true meaning of Christmas (not just loads of presents and trips to Lapland with his Godfather )

my mother in law buys one every year from her church.(catholic - not sure if that matters or not) As I don't go to church that often not sure if it is just her church or all of them.
  • I saw a couple in WH Smiths, think they were £2 ish?

I don't like the chocolate ones either. I bought a playmobil one last year for my 2 kids to share, they are expensive, but then they can play with it afterwards and can come out every year.

I loved those picture ones as a child, especially if they had lots of glitter on. My Grandma used to buy us them.. can't say I've seen any recently though.. shame.

  • I bought one from letterbox. It was expensive but DD was only 4 months old when I bought it so it'll have a good few years of use and she really enjoyed putting the nativity scene together last year.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I remembered seeing this thread so when I noticed some non-chocolate advent calendars at a local garden centre I took note of the maker (Caspari) so I could Google them when I got home. It came back with :

The garden centre also had some National Trust calendars too...
    That's Numberwang!
  • My MIL always gets my kids a "Religious" advent calendar which is great as DS can't have chocolate and I'd much rather a proper christmas advent calendar. we also have an advent type Chimney, which starts with santa at the top of the chimney siting on sticks with 1 - 24 on them, and each day we pull a stick out and every 3 sticks he falls a bit further down the chimney, so by christmas eve he's in the fireplace surrounded by the presents. We've had it years and I think I got in from Avon ,but it's great coz the kids take turns to do religious advent door or stick.

Small world! I live about 15 mins drive away from Dainty Supplies, and my Mam lives in Blackfell, so just a few mins walk away.
Here I go again on my own....
