Laptop problem, Numbers instead of letters

Bought my GF a laptop (ASUS) about 8 months ago and now when she is sending email, messaging etc some of the letters are showing as numbers...

Is this a setting problem or is it likely to be a fault where someone has dropped the laptop or done something like that. I know it is under warranty but I just wanted to see if there is an easy fix first.

Probably got num lock on ?

It may be likely she has caught the number lock on the keyboard. On my lappy it is on the top right and it is easy to catch if typing on the number pad or carrying it

If previous suggestions don't work, check whether the Fn key is stuck...

Thanks for replies, got it sorted today and had to hold down Fn and then numlock/insert key.
