Natwest charges

Hi i have a natwest "current plus account" which does me fine around 18 months ago i noticed £12 being taken every month at first i thought it may be charges for me being overdrawn, i enquired and the bank told me it was interst charges, but how can it be £12.
It now seems that it is for an advantage gold account charge, i never signed up to this but who did? what course of action can i take and how do i go about it?
i have never had much luck getting through to banks
cheers all

Ask them for a copy of your signed agreement? The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

Nat West have done this to me twice, they transfered me onto their useless Advantage Gold where you pay extra charges every month for "advantages" I would never ever use.
Both times I wrote to them pointing out that I do not want this account and they reimbursed me the money in charges straight away and changed me back to their normal free account.
It does show how desperate they are to screw every last penny from the customers.0
