npower refunds

a letter arrived today which looked like junk. i read it and it says to take the letter to a post office to claim a refund of £92. npower has been caught out by consumer focus on some changes made in 2007. so make sure you read your letters folks. im sure you people on here will read it but i bet there will be lots of others who will lose there refund by binning the letter as junk.

  • I also received mine today for £44; and yes it does look as if it is junk mail from nPower.

I've just had one for £55 - and searched the forums as I thought it was a scam!

Better in my pocket than theres. And agreed, it does look like junk mail.

  • Beware when you take your letter to the post office. Although it says "any two" items of ID from the list, our local post office insisted on a driving licence! I wonder why npower could not have just refunded to the bank accounts of those who pay by DD?

i think they are hoping people will bin the letter without reading it, as i often used to do. i think consumer watchdog should sort this one out. i already know of one person who had to rescue his letter.

    Hi I agree.

I PM'd MSE Lee on wednesday to alert MSE towers about these letters (got no reply tho')

TBH I very nearly binned the letter especially as it was addressed to "the occupier" I'm no longer a Npower customer and just thought it was junk mail.

Both me and my OH think that the letter was formatted in the hope that thousands will simply throw these letters away.........

Hopefully someone at MSE towers will read this thread and get a bit of publicity going.
