Anyone used energy saving radiator valves?

You're right... 19 is a lot! Our kitchen / conservatoy has 5 radiators alone - we put in as many rads as we could given the heat loss. Lounge and dining room have 2 in each 'cos of the room design. That's 9 alone. Our bad luck to have so many radiators!
The good thing is the remotes are universal. They're slim enough to keep in a pocket too - only need them for programming or overriding. When we're all back at work and school, I reckon the remote will be rarely used. Has also been helpful to fine tune the settings, especially where in the lounge one is behind the sofa - remote works over the top of the sofa so don't need to move it. In the dining room, it works throught the holes in the radiator cover which is a plus too.
27col - you could always get an One-for-all remote if you've got too many, and programme it up to switch on the telly, set up the sky channel, dim the lights, and turn the heating up or down a degree... that would save loads on batteries too!
We bought off the Chalmor web site too - they had a promotion for free handsets and free delivery, looks to me like it's still running.
MONEY SAVING TIP - if you need a plumber to fit, you should only pay 5% VAT on supply and fitting of heating controls - so get the plumber to buy them - with what you save on VAT it will cover some / all of his time too. VAT for the same thing is 20% for DIY.0 -
Mmmm....we have 22 rads in our house (4 beds + granny flat).....but we still worry about the size of the bills.
Having lots if rads does not equal having lots of money necessarily.0
