Refund to a card with no balance

Options
I recently booked a trip abroad on my credit card (Halifax clarity) which I then paid off the following month. The trip has now been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances and a refund will be applied to my card.

I know technically you are not supposed to put accounts into credit, therefore will Halifax allow this refund to go through? I do have the option of transferring a balance from another card to absorb the refund, however, it may be that the refund hits before the balance transfer does...

Its a substantial amount of money and I am worried it will get lost somewhere down the line....

I don't see as this will be a problem, lets face it, it can't be your fault if you've paid the CC bill in full can it? rather than just the minimum payment.

I'd ring Halifax and explain, I'm sure it will be fine.
