Glow worm Gas Boiler pressure problem - can you help?

Hello

I have a problem with a Glow Worm Ultimate 30FF fanned flu boiler (SIT) G.C. No.41 047 07

Fortunatly I typed glow worm into the google search and got this Forum!

My problem is as follows:

The water pressure guage on the front keeps dropping pressure to the point now, that I have to top up the water daily!

Does anyone know what can cause this?

This may help - Im having building work done and the digger cut through the water mains and force grit into the house system - I know this as the toilet valves all had to be cleaned as they stopped flowing.

Can dirt in the water block open a valve or something?
Does anyone have any ideas if its not dirt?

Any help or ideas would be greatful.

Comments

  • Might be alot of air in the system - this will be a long shot (as should not need topping everyday).

A full bleed of the system might help.

OMG We have the same problem. i would love to hear your resolution when youhave one, we have had the pressure dropping every few days for 4 YEARS!!!!! We have British Gas engineers out about 12 times to check various things. A few small leaks were found but stlll the pressure drops.

It means water is getting out somwehere. Cheeck all radiators and the boiler itself for leaks. Check your walls and ceilings for watermarks in case its a leak inside walls somewhere. Check the overflow pipe from your boiler.

They have now said it must be in the pipeowkr laid below the groundfllor - which is concrete, amd we can't face digging it up. So we still topping it up untilwe decide what to do

    You are not alone.

    Isn't it annoying ?????
