Job seekers entitlement

Hi there

Hope someone can help me.

If I resign from my job of 4 years, due to relocating 140 miles away, should I still get Job seekers allowance? I know I will have paid enough contributions but will they stop me because I resigned!! even though it would be impossible to travel there now?

thanks

It depends on why you had to relocate. It's possible but it depends on the reason.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Generally unless you have a really really good reason, leaving your job voluntarily means you wont be able to get jobseakers. Generally the only way you can leave a job and get JSA is by being made redundant or your contract ends.

Why are you relocating? Can you not find a job before you relocate?
(I presume it's you relocating rather than your job?)

As already said, I think it depends on the reason for relocating.

Just to clarify, has the job moved or have you?
