Hi All,
Just wondered what you thought about buying a house from a vendor who works for the estate agents selling the house? Can this compromise the process? Is there anything I need to look out for?

Provided the estate agent disclose their interest in the property then it is legal for them to do this (in the past they did not need to tell you).
As for comments about not trusting the estate agent, why would anyone trust an estate agent anyway? People have this silly idea that they are there either to be helpful to to buyer or as some impartial person in the deal. They are not. They work for the seller and are employed to get the best price for the property, by whatever (legal) means necessary.0 -

The EA works for the vendor in every sale - they are never your friend their obligation is to the vendor, sounds no different, the fact disclosed mean they are probably being above board.0 -

It may speed up the process, actually - the seller will know exactly how the whole house buying process works and will be willing to chase any solicitors, etc, who may be acting slowly.
Only downside is that you are unlikely to get a bargain, as they will know exactly how much the house is worth and how best to present it.
