How accurate is the HMRC tax credits calculator?

The directgov.co.uk benefits calculator states that my household should be entitled to £88.34 per week but the calculator on the HMRC site estimates a much lower figure (£20.00 per week). Being something of a pessimist I'm inclined to trust the HMRC site more but this seems like a pretty major discrepancy. Is the HMRC calculator generally accurate?
Thanks in advance.
