international calls on a virgin line

I have a virgin media line in my house and have been using a phonecard to make calls to india for years now.
I have just noticed the call checker on this website (sorry cant link it as i havent got enough posts to include links)
Im currently paying round 9p a minute and just seen massive savings from that link above - down to 0.5p per minute!
Im interested in using them however are these prices only on a BT line? I dont see any mention for a virgin line.
Would it cost more for me as i am on a virgin landline? If so then how much more?
Thanks

Yes, the prices quoted in the MSE CallCheckers are from a BT line (although some other providers charge the same prices).
Virgin, on the other hand, charge a great deal more (many multiples of - up to 6 times - the per minute rates).
However, if you opened a www.18185.co.uk account online (Direct Debit payment recommended) and used their freephone access number (0808 1 703 703) from your Virgin cable line, you'd then pay 4p/minute to call India (a 4p connection charge per call would also apply).

That would not involve the use of 084/7 gateway numbers to call and so you'd avoid having to start paying halfway through dillaing (after the last digit of the gateway number) and/or if the call fails or the target number is engaged.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Do you have any inclusive call packages for calling UK landlines?
http://www.localphone.com/ can set up UK landline numbers that forward directly to an international number of your choice. Their rate to India is 1p/min.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
If you don't have inclusive packages, you can use Lycatalk or Savacalldirect to make calls to India. You open an accoutn with them and then use their access number to call India.
Both have 0800 access numbers which are free to call from any landline and from Giffgaff mobile network. The call charges to India when using the 0800 access numbers are 2p per min and 1.97p per min from these providers respectively.0
