I visited the Glentress mountain biking trails last week, near the town of Peebles and part of the 7stanes in south Scotland. What a great experience, expected it to be quieter but english school holiday week meant quite a few families were on the trails. Only £3 for parking, and no other costs.

I did the red and blue routes and found them very enjoyable with the climb up being worth the, at times, thrilling descent. Each trail had its own merits. I stuck to the trails rather than any of the skills stuff (probably because I don't have any). The route was well signposted with discreet markers. Each day was rounded off at the cafe with rolls with black pudding or sausage and egg and a big mug of tea.

Stayed at the Peebles Hydro and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I will certainly be back.
