How did he pay, i'm assuming a chq or bank transfer, rather than paypal?

if chq you may have to wait for yoru bank statement to show chq cashed, although quite how you will prove the chq was to the person you said it is might be more tricky. Might be best to write them a email and ask them how you go about proving a chq is to the correct person.

    good luck

I'm confused by this to be honest..assuming a buyer pad by cheque or bank transfer then they can't prove they paid you and in turn you can't prove 100% that you have refunded them. That's why ebay claims are so dodgy. Also a 99p item is not available for an ebay claim so I can't see why they are asking you to prove anything?

Only a paypal claim would cover a 99p item, and in that case assuming you refunded the original paypal payment correctly and didn't just send a new payment, then the refund is obvious as it is just a return of the original payment. If this is a paypal chargeback then a refund of the original payment would mean that the chargeback would be seen as closed.

So, as I said I am confused

Did paypal not send you an e-mail when you refunded the buyer?
    Just send them that.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

Can I confirm that we are talking about a paypal payment? As if so the chargeback should have disappeared as the original payment would have just been refunded.

In that case I am really confused.

We cannot be talking about an ebay claim as 99p is too low to be covered, so I am now assuming that your account has been suspended for something. It is likely that this 99p item is the final straw as once ebay suspend you they will take double care to check everything you do in future.

Maybe if someone else has ever been investigated they may be in a better position to advise you, as I'm not sure what proof ebay require in these circumstances.
