Somewhere hot in April?

Hi all,
Looking for ideas for next years holiday. We normally go away for two weeks in May/June - over the half term. Oldest son has now started secondary school and so I am loathe to take him out for as long as we have done in the past. However, a new problem has arisen, meaning that we are unable to go on holiday in May h-term at all.
We are going to have a two week holiday in July/August (hopefully Keycamping in France), but would like to go away somewhere hot earlier in the year. We had been thinking about Greece for the May h-t but obviously this is now out of the equation.
So, we are looking at going somewhere for a week during the Easter holidays probably around the 14th April (kids go back to school on the 26th). Requirements are: needs to be warm/hot, hotel, half-board or AI and I guess a flight no more than about 4 hours as we are only going for a week.
What are the Canary Islands like at that time of year?
Any suggestions welcomed and thanks in advance.

Canary Islands is usually one of the first places mentioned no matter what month people plan to go, they have pretty decent weather all year. Hopefully someone will be on to advise on which island would be best."It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice." :T0

OK, if it is to be the Canaries, then what are the recommendations - the only island we have done before is Tenerife, so somewhere else would be good. I look forward to hearing from you all.0

I can recommend the Canaries - my husband and myself went to Lanzarote which I would recommend as it doesn't seem to be too busy out of peak season and the weather is lovely. I haven't been to any of the other islands myself although I've heard good things about Fuerteventura (sp?).DFW by end of June 2016...! LBM June 2011

We go to Lanzarote every year at easter. We love Playa Blanca as it is a quiet resort, not as windy as Costa teguise and all the restaurants etc face the sea which is great at night. It has a Marina and a lovely sea front walkway. They have a market twice weekly and boat trips from the Marina. You can also hop on the ferry to Fuerteventura if you fancy that for a day as its only a 45 minute crossing.
They have some good hotels if thats what you want. We have stayed at Rubicon Palace and Papagayo Arena. Both good hotels but about 30 minute walk to the town.
Princess Yaiza is the best but is quite expensive.
We stay in a Villa now as we like the freedom of eating out at night with the peace and tranquility of a Villa with your own pool (heated at that time of year is essential). The one this year had pool, hot tub, barbeque, outdoor bar area, Full Sky Tv and ensuites to both bedrooms. it was absolute luxury and cost £600 for a week.
Temperature this year was 25-28 degrees every day, 18 degrees at night and sunny 8 days out of nine!0 -
egypt is also very good at this time 30+. popular resorts are sharm el sheikh or hurghada.0

We stayed in Fuertaventura April 14-25 this year. I would not say it was hot more like warm but i think this was probably due to the wind. Pool was really cold and never used. That was at the south of the island. I wont be returning.0
