trouble opening files

hello hope someone can help, to cut story short i have been given a A+ VPC disk from a friend which has a test engine on so i can practice for my A+ exam the problem i have is that the file i need to open are VMC and VHD im aware i need VPC to open these files but i dont have XP PRO only Home edition so how could i run these files is there any work around this, id be most greatfull for some help please.
