DVD+RW - wont save after disk wiped

I have cleared my disk and should be able to use it again as it is a RW. Can anyone tell me why it wont reformat so that I can transfer files to the blank disk. When I check properties it appears that the disc is full. I am once again confused. Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

They can be temperamental and prone to failure, just use DVD's as they are cheap.
  • This is not the first time. I buy decent DVDs, so am I wasting my money and time?

When you write DVDs or CDs theres sometimes a tick box stopping you from adding anything or formatting it.

Something like above when you "Finalize Disc"

Erase disc via your burning program then format .

I have this problem when writing to the DVD RW on my DVD HDD recorder (I record TV programs and then transfer them to my PC for watching later). During dubbing the recorder finalises the disc but the PC can't unfinalise it. I have to simply put the discs back into the recorder and unfinalise there. :)

You could try the 'Erase Disc' option in ImgBurn ..

I've marked it in red .. it's in the 'Build' , 'Write' or 'Discovery' modes.
As Britrael says though . there's a slight format mis-match between PC and DVD HDD recorders , not sure why that should be though.
