Is there a washing up bowl in your flat? Or maybe a small waste paper bin? You could leave clothes in one of those to soak. I often washed odd items, whites and underwear in the washing up bowl when I was in halls :D
I'd be tempted to tie the carrier bag up then smash it around and trample on it a load to rough the clothes up a bit!
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:
  • Why can't you get to a launderette? maybe split the cost with someone else?

Can you still get those Sputnik washing machines - the hand operated ones?

    Handwashing fragile clothing may help.

Handwashing clothes should be full of previous discussion and ideas as well - I will merge this later. Good luck with it

    Zip :)

I wash my delicates in the shower, any top that I won't m/c wash I just take into the shower the next day, soap it as I soap myself, soap underarm / neck areas again, rinse and gently wring, then put on line or airer to dry. If its still wet (as happens with jumpers) put over the shower screen / rail so it drips in bath/cubicle.

If this is likely to long term, I'd get a bucket and soak things like jeans overnight in some hand wash detergent and warm water, then take into shower and wash through next day.

For stains, put some washing up liquid directly onto stain and gently rub in. Then wash thorough as normal.
