Holiday insurance for long, long trip

Long time lurker here, on other boards though.
My parents are off on a jaunt to India lasting around 75 days (*sigh* of envy). One is 66yrs old and no dangerous activities are planned.
They're really struggling to get basic travel insurance. Most companies won't cover such a long trip. One that does is quoting an enormous amount, we're talking a significant portion of the air fare.
I can't believe they're the only retired couple to go off on a long break.
Does any one know of companies that will cover them for a sensible amount please?
Many thanks.

Hello - I often go on long trips of at least 50 days - everytime I have used atlas insurance, their prices are really good and I have compared to other providers long and hard and their cover is comparable.
Fortunately haven't had to make a claim so cannot comment on that side of things.
But yes, Atlas gave us great long term cover. The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your action.

Hi, we have used Insure and Go a few times. We take out a yearly insurance as we go away a few times a year. Hope this is a help.0

I have an annual policy as part of my managed current account. I am going to Australia for 8 weeks 56 days in total. When I spoke to them I paid a fee of £18 to make the cover 60 days instead of the 31 as per usual.
Don't forget to notify your Home Insurance as many will not cover for prolonged holidays. I am now with RIAS who will cover me for the 60 period. Not sure what it would cost to increas this time limit.0
