sky+ box failing to delete.

Has anyone come across this problem before?

My mum has a sky+ box (joined sky when she moved house in june this year so its quite new), and if she highlights a recorded programme and asks it to delete, the whole page freezes. She has then switched the power off, left it a while, then switched it back on. This unfreezes it, but the programme she has tried to delete just says 'failed' which I assume means failed to delete, as she then has to delete it gain.

This has been a problem for a few days, and is getting worse, now this happens almost every time she tries to delete a programme.

Can anyone advise please? She used to be with Virgin, and they had a help line number, but sky dont seem to have this (or so my mum tells me) does sky have a help forum like Talktalk?

Try downloading the software this may cure it (it does not delete any content on the box)

Turn the box off at the wall
Hold down the "back up" button on the box (not remote!)
Keep holding the button and switch mains back on
Keep holding and after about 20 seconds a message apprears on screen "updating software"
You can now let go and it will download the latest software

If that does not work then try a Sky+ rebuild, its "services" then "settings" then press 01 select and choose rebuild

If that does not work a full system reset will be required , same as above but choose "system reset" you will loose all recordings doing this
