Damage to kitchen worktops during installation

Ive just had my Howdens kitchen fitted and on the whole its very good. Where the worktop meets the wall there was a slight amount of damage to the edge as if the laminate coating had cracked.
I know these worktops are prone to damage but is this to be expected with a new kitchen install? I'd feel a bit silly asking the carpenter to renew that piece of the worktop.
Ive wiped over the area with colourfill and it looks ok but not perfect, im a fussy !!!!!! when it comes to things like this!
Any thoughts?

Have you got tiles to go on? If do, would the thickness of the tile and the adhesive (10 - 12mm) cover the damage?Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

a friend of mine had a similar issue with a homebase worktop, it was a black shiny number, which seemed to have loads of cracks and scratches on it after fitting, and it was nothing to do with the joiner, homebase came and visited and then replaced the full worktop with no hassle, i think some of the worktops are a lot less durable than they thought, maybe howdens have a similar issue with this worktop? worth asking! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thanks for the replies guys! Sadly its the front edge so a tile wont hide it
Its not too drastic though, im just too proud of my new kitchen!
Interestingly the howdens worktop is called the blackstone, the same as was fitted in my old flat 3 years ago and flaked/peeled v badly! I'll have to see how this one lasts and if its as poor as the other Ill complain.0 -
Which you have paid for and it should be correct. Even if you can get it disguised you'll always know its is there and it will always wrankle. If its a manufacturing / handling fault the fitter should have spotted it and not fitted it requesting a replacement. If the fitter damaged it he should change it. Simples.Sadly its the front edge so a tile wont hide it

And all they'll say is "wear and tear madam" or some other weasley excuse. You really should deal with it right now IMHO.Interestingly the howdens worktop is called the blackstone, the same as was fitted in my old flat 3 years ago and flaked/peeled v badly!
