I have ASDA Card - Need BT - is Santander Zero OK?

I have ASDA Card - Need BT - is Santander Zero OK?

I need to BT my balanace on my ASDA card.
Can I use the Santander Zero card for this?

I applied on the 2nd, but have not heard anything yet. I have a payment going out of my account on the 18th. Do you think I will get the card by then?

Thanks

  • Asda card is issued by santander cards so doubt it.
I have a deep burning indifference
  • Once accepted the card takes 10 days to two weeks to come through.

Presuming you applied online what did the message say once you had gone through all the form filling?
  • My asda card took 5 weeks to come, given that you only have 6 weeks to use the BT facility from application day and BT,s can take up to 3 weeks I never bothered to phone up and register the card.
My own fault-I should read the word satan-dire in the small print.

So santander is the Card provider - they will not issue a BT to the same card.
I'm going to try Virgin then - But Santander has the free 0% BT for account holders.
    Virgin can super balance transfer.

It just gave me a reference number and said I would need it when I will be contacted.

The problem is that I normally pay off the total amount each month on my card, but have had some large bills this last month. meaning that It will be hard to do the full payment.
I was hoping to get another card to transfer the balance to.
But the payment will come out of my account on the 18th November.
So If Santander won't BT to ASDA Card - which is the lowest cost Card to Apply to for a BT. lowest fee.

    Thanks.

I applied for Santander Zero card, and when I received it I activated it then asked for a balance transfer. I told them it was an ASDA card and they said its not a problem. I checked my online statement on the asda card today, and they have paid part of my balance. Hooray. 6 mths free with no fee!

ok. things have got a little complicated.

I applied for the MBNA card as ASDA and Santander are in the same group - so from the advise given , I didn't think they would balance transfer.
During the MBNA application they ask how much BT you need, so I filled this in.
Well the end result now is that I have a credit balance on my ASDA card as I have used 2 cards to BT the balance from it.

I called ASDA,, and they were very helpful. [they really were, once they understood]. I asked if the credit balance which was around £2k, would incur any charges- I was told no.
I asked if they could transfer this to my bank account. and they said yes, but it may take up to 28 days.
I double checked this as 28 days is long time.

Now I think I have an issue with my payments on the ASDA card but i'll come back later to ask about that.
I have also secure messaged ASDA, who say they will reply within 48 hours [which means within the week].

ASDA did not reply to me via the secure message until 20 days later! saying that it will take upto 28 days to transfer back into my account.

On 17th an amount was transferred out of the Asda Card account leaving the balance at zero. But as yet nothing in my bank account. I think I will leave it until Thursday- so that at least 4 working days have past.

    .

For this reason i never fill these boxes in. You can always make the transfer via the phone when you know you have the card.
  • Sorry to bump but do u still get the 1p off per litre off fuel on the asda cc. I cancelled mine years back when they changed it from 2p. Just asking asdas fuel is always cheaper than tesco and the fact that tesco have reduced the points u can earn...I have a tesco cc at the moment.

Yes, They give 1p off per litre of fuel.
But as I now have a tesco clubcard credit card - I buy my fuel on this, getting clubcard points [dont know how many] plus I dont have to repay it until 2012
