pricing misrepresentations

Unless I'm rather confused I've had problems when using price comparison websites in trying to find best dual fuel supplier.

First however, my supplier Atlantic (and others in the same group Swalec etc.) are raining their gas prices by 9.4% on December 1st. However if you look at the new pricing structure, I calculate that on tariffs with a standard and a separate discounted charge, the standard charge rise is considerably greater than 9.4%. If correct, surely to claim only a 9.4% rise is misrepresentation!

The major problem however is that price comparison sites use the new, raised price when making comparisons when what I want to see is pricing compared to my current charges.

Am I wrong?

By the time you switch, you will be on the new tariff.

That's why it's appropriate for the comparison to be made against that price.
