Flickr traceability question

I put up a set of photos of my daughter's wedding on Flickr many months ago and, idling through them for the first time in ages recently, I noticed that someone (undoubtedly the same person each time) had posted some appalling comments against quite a few of them. They border on the libellous and are extremely upsetting.

I have a good idea who this is but is there any way either I or the authorities can trace the poster beyond doubt, maybe through an IP number or suchlike?

I know next to nothing about Flickr's operation and would appreciate some advice.

I think the only way would be to report the abuse to Flickr. I'm not familiar with the site but I assume that you have to be a member to post comments. Flickr will probably only remove the user and the comments. The police would only be interested in serious cases and they are the only ones who can request the address of the internet account holder from their IP address and Flickr is only likely to give the authorities the IP address when asked.
