I need to use this for a mystery shop assignment but the button doesn't seem to work.
The button has 'prt sc' in a box with 'home' above it.
When I just use the button to try to copy the web page nothing happens. When I use it with 'alt' it takes me to the home page.
Am I missing something really obvious? (that really wouldn't surprise me)
I've only had the laptop for a few weeks - its a Compaq CQ61 if that helps.

are you expecting it to print out? - check your clipboard!!

In Windows OSes, the "Print Scrn" button sends a screengrab to the clipboard. You won't see anything happen when you press the key, but you can then paste the image into a suitable application (using either CTRL+V or SHIFT+INSERT).
I think pressing ALT+PRINT SCRN just copies the active window rather than the whole screen (or is it CTRL+PRINT SCRN...?)0 -
I have tried it with num lock on and off and it makes no difference.
I have tried the ctr-v option and nothing happens.
Nothing appears on my clipboard either in word or on the 'paint' thing.
(I wasn't expecting it to print and didn't want it to do that.)
Is there some other clipboard thing that I'm missing?
Or is it possible that my keyboard isn't set up properly to use that key?0 -
Thanks but I have just solved the problem.
I have a 'fn' key and that seems to be the one to use instead of 'alt'
Thanks for all your suggestions though.0
