Heat resistant strips for kitchen needed?

I have an incredibly poorly designed kitchen.
The oven is right next to the washing machine and over time the WM has discoloured on the side next to the oven and the paint/ enamel has started to "bubble."
We are replacing the WM and I wondered if I can buy something to stick on to the side to resist the heat.
It only needs to be about an inch wide and countertop height long.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks

Stick some foil on the side of the new washing machine?

You could try cutting a silicone rubber baking sheet or pad into strips. They are heat resistant to over 200C and are heat insulating.0
