Your WTC will be more than JSA this will be the problem. As I have said once the 4 week run on has ended re apply.

It is nothing to do with WTC. See this thread for more info, post #12 in particular.
    Gone ... or have I?

Sounds like a redefining of the rules scam to deny legally entitled benefits.

Certainly is strange especially as the bloke has four kids and a wife to feed and maintain a roof over their heads. personally i would be seeking help from the CAB or another likewise organisation.

They've tightened up the rules for seasonal workers over the last few years. I found this on another forum which is from a letter to someone in the same position as the OP.

"You cannot receive JSA if you work 16 or more hours a week. JSA legislation lays down that when a person doesnt work every week, or works a fluctuating no of hours but has a cycle of work, hours should be averaged over a period of one cycle. Seasonal workers covering the same or similar periods are treated as having a cycle of work of one year as their work patterns are regular and re-established yearly."

Not much help but I have come across this before with people on term time only contracts.

I haven't time to read this properly but a skim through seems to suggest that this is relevant to the situation.

This isnt anything new as far as I can see.

If the OP had worked half the hours for twice as long then it would still average out at more than 16 hours a week and therefore no entitlement. No scam as the Glorious Permed One states.
