Littlewoods click and collect/ Spar

I ordered some boots for my daughter from the littlewoods catalogue and requested they be delivered to a local Spar for me to collect. Got a text on Wednesday (27th October) to say they had been delivered, unfortunately I had been taken into hospital so wasn't able to collect them until the Saturday. But when I got there there was no parcel, checked on the online tracking and the shop had sent them back with the courier on the Thursday. The whole selling point of click and collect is the ability to get your item when it suits you and the website states it will be held for 10 days, shame noone told my local Spar

I've managed to order them elsewhere now but thought I'd email Littlewoods and let them know so they could make sure that all click and collect stores are made aware of how long they should hold a parcel. Sent an email off explaining what had happened along with a screenshot of the tracking page (which has since vanished off my account) and got a lovely email back explaining sometimes parcels take longer to arrive and if my parcel isn't there by Friday then please let them know. Wouldn't it be brill if people actually read the email they're replying to? :rotfl:

Rant over, no I don't want compensation (before anyone suggests it) but it would be an idea for them to reinforce the way things should be done and they don't know there is a problem unless someone lets them know.

Oh I know, was just a small vent, however they still seem unable to actually read my email and keep apologising for the parcel not arriving yet and saying it'll be there very soon :rotfl:
