Should I switch?

Hi all,
I am currently with British Gas (standard tariff) for gas and N Power (standard tariff) for electric. I have paid £370 over the last year for gas and £290 for electric. (2 of us living in a 3 bedroom house)
I'm wondering whether to switch as comparison websites say I'd save between £70-£80 (by choosing duel fuel and payment upon receipt of bill)
I know I'd save more if I went for a monthly direct debit option but have heard so much about companies taking too much money per month, it is putting me off!!
Have had no problems with either British Gas or N power, been with them for years, so not sure whether to switch suppliers or stay as I am.
Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

Put your annual consumption figures (Kwh) into a comparison site and see whats available.
If you are on standard tarrif, with no discounts then you are paying around 30% more than for the cheapest internet tarrifs.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

I think you may have signed up to the wrong site if you are prepared to forego an annual saving of £70-£80 for getting the same stuff through the same wires/pipes and paying in the same way. ;)
