Hello,
I am struggling to come up with some Winter dates for me and the OH.
We sometimes go to the cinema and have meals out but do you guys have any other suggestions? Out of the house preferably
Walks etc are getting a bit tricky now with it being dark and cold after work.
Thank you :j

You could try doing something active like bowling or ice skating!!?!? Good keep fit and well as a laugh! Especially if you have a few drinks first!0

I only did this once, but did think it was a good idea, I lived fairly near the beach and due to a health scare was trying to make the most of life and took a flask of hot chocolate to the beach where we walked for a while and then sat drinking hot chocolate. This might be an option for warming up your favourite walks.
Otherwise, I get DVD's through sofacinema - alternatively planning around the tv schedles to watch a specific film together might work - look at the special offer vouchers for Pizza Express and similiar restaurants.
Booking ahead for a cheap travelodge if space is a problem at home - I mean if you are sharing with in laws - or look at some of the deals on Travelzoo if you have a bit more to spend for something a lot nicer.
Orange wednesdays at the cinema are good, but maybe not great for chatting? Are there any local happy hours that you could go out together to with a bit of an excuse to get dressed up if you wanted to?0 -
How about a cheap night out at the theatre? Many places have £5-£10 seats, so its worth a look! Also, art galleries, open mike nights (usually free), double date nights with friends on a come dine with me rota?Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
We do live by ourselves, but it is just nice to get out and about
I think it's important to try and make the effort and enjoy little things like a trip somewhere etc.

Why not check out the website "Wherecanwego.com". If you put in your postcode it will come up with all kinds of suggestions for things that are happening in your local area.
How friendly are your neighbours? Perhaps they're similarly dreading the dreary winter evenings and looking for some similar ideas. You could get together and organise some regular games evenings - Scrabble, Monopoly,etc.0 -
ooh i love walking around the christmas markets0

A variation on the theme is to invite friends round, they each bring a dish and a bottle - say whether you want savoury or sweet. You provide the silly games, the coffee, ketchup, whatever. Good ice breaker for getting to know people better.0
