sign on as 'administrator'

I want to uninstal/reinstall, Google Earth program, as it doesnt work properly, however a message comes up that I must log in as "the administator" to do this.
Have never seen this as an option, when turning machine on, I just insert password when requested.

Any ideas please ?

What version of windows are you using?

XP, Vista or Windows 7? Also which variant; Home, Professional, Ultimate...?

If it is XP Home, then you need to boot up the PC in Safe Mode, to be able to login as Administrator. Check here for further instructions.
