Sterling OSB or Ply Sheathing

We have a bit of an issue (builders might be about to walk off site until resolved) over whether the new house kit should have been with ply sheathing (as per architect's spec) or Sterling OSB board.

What is the dfference and which of the two is better, bear in mind it is raining just about everyday and a qurter of the kit is already up with the rest lying on site.

In need my builders back :)

just what was ordered from the suppliers? thats what you should have got and paid for.
if it was marine ply that was specified, then that should have been ordered.

any changes to the spec should have been approved by the tech.

The kit manufacturer cocked up as far as I can ascertain. Anyway it looks as we are all (relatively) happy again and we will be getting a credit for the difference in price.

But it has highlighted the need for us all to be tlking to each other before it gets out of hand.

Still not sure which is best though if any one has any ideas.

marine ply is far better. and its about 2/3/4 times the price.

I suspect it wasn't marine ply though, but I will check that out. (I had actually assumed it wouldn't be marine because of the price differential).

its ok for general building work. when being used externally, it must not be allowed to get wet.
fix it on a dry day and then cover it up, immediately.

    same goes for standard plywood.
