Anniversary ideas

It's comming up to mine and hubby's 10th anniversary in a few weeks time, neither of us have ever been much into the celebrating of it but after 10 very hard years I want to make some effort. In an ideal world I really wanted us to be able to go away for a couple of days but the reality is we have 3 kids and one of those is severly disabled/ill (he's uses a ventilator) and we are not able to leave him with anyone, we could take him with us (but would on duty constantly) and find willing victims to look after the other two. Due to the last 9 years of stress, living in hospitals and no sleep my brain is cooked and I just can't come up with anything so I thought I would try picking other peoples brains instead :D I could probably throw a max of £200 at it but we need so many things doing in the house that the cheaper the better :o any ideas welcome.

  • If you have that much to spend, why not use it do decorated your bedroom? Buy new bedsheets and make your room a real haven, buy him a small personal gift and go to the movies? The newly decorated room would be a real treat and you could easily do that within budget by shopping sensibly. A tin of paint and pehaps a couple of rolls of wallpaper for a feature wall wouldn't be too much, and if you are handy you could do it yourself, if not do you have a brother or brother in law (or sister, I am the decorator in my family, my OH can't be trusted with wallpaper) you can call a favour or two in from? x

Could you leave them all for a few hours what about finding a spa near you and both going for a pamper session or swim then have lunch/dinner our local spa does morning swim then lunch packages starting at £25 and if you still have time you could catch a movie. Or have a day where you both do something different together find somewhere for breakfast then go rally driving/bird of prey flying and if you've still got time go for dinner.
