half board or all inclusive in the sun with children - help!

Options
I might be asking the impossible..my son and family (children are 6,5 and 2 ) are looking foran inexpensively priced holiday in the sun for around the middle of March 2011. I can't really give you a price because we have never done this sort of holiday before and dont have a feel for prices. It needs to be half board or all inclusive and by the sea. My husband and I (grandparents) are hoping to tag along too. We wondered about Egypt but would go further afield as the children are good travellers. We firstly looked at Tenerife but not sure it would be hot enough for lazing around. Ideally we want somewhere were we can sally forth for a couple of day trips..can anyone suggest anything at the lower end of the market that would be good value rather than a holiday from hell??!!
Many thanks!
Hilary

Cheap plus all inclusive equals a disastrous holiday.
Please do not even think about it.
I go Ai but its very expensive

I really think you have to supply some info , Starting with a vague budget.

The canaries will be fine that time of year I went Xmas one year and was nice during day in the sun.
Personally I think Tenerife is chocked full of the dregs from the uk so I would avoid.obviously don't want to offend anyone it is just my experience of the island from a few years back so would not go there again.

Gran canaria or lanzarote would be better choices with kids in my opinion.
I have been looking at cheap holidays for march myself and toyed with idea of sharm but have found some good deals to lanzarote.
Ryanair for flights and AI hotel through travel republic can be had for around £700ish for 2 adults and a child for 7 nights.

It is not always the case I have done AI in many places the caribeean is obviously different and is done very well but I did go on a weeks cheap AI in Majorca last oct and it was perfectly fine.
The key is to research before booking check trip advisor etc.

You cant always discount a cheap all inclusive, it depends what the OP is looking for.
    I have stayed 5* A/I and 3* A/I
The kids prefered the 3* holidays everytime!! We have been all over the world with them and there best holiday was..... Sahara beach Tunisia. They loved it!

I would say Egypt for Sun, book your flight with Easyjet, you should easily get them for under £200pp A/I is dirt cheap over there, check reviews on Tripadvisor.
We are going to Stella di mare in sharm end of the month, cant wait! (without the kids they wont appreciate it lol!)
    £100 - £10,000

Not truant! The school allows up to four weeks abscence a year- this holiday would be during termtime to make it more affordable.
