Back in March, I bought a Dahon folding bike. I'd used it 5 days a week since apart from the odd holiday.
In September I turned a corner when the handlebars suddenly folded and I fell off. I pushed it back to the local branch and they arranged for it to be repaired under warranty.
A few weeks later the same part failed again.
So I asked for a refund as the bike was not fit for purpose (and dangerous). The manager said he'd need to speak to head office.
Within 48 hours, I got a full refund of the purchase price, no argument, just a very helpful store manager. Good service imo!
