Shower died

10.5kW is right on the limit for a 45A circuit. I would get the cabling and circuit checked out-and is there no RCD protection on it if it was done as recently as 3 years? No free lunch, and no free laptop

That catridge fuse circuit wasn't added 3 years ago - I'd be concerned that its a 45A fuse that's been bodged onto a circuit and cable that were designed for much lower ratings. If its cooked the insulation on an under sized cable, its not surprising its gone bang and gone off - and that is much more likely if you've left the shower running (and power going through the cable heating it up) for an extended time while you forgot about it. Get an electrician out - at best it will be something in a cheap shower that's blown in which case he can advise on an appropriate repair/replacement - at worst you'll need the cable and circuit replacing.Adventure before Dementia!0

The guy who installed the shower definitely didn't do anything else. I don't know what RCS protection is. Don't know what a cheap shower is but mine was nearly £200? When I say I left it running it wasn't very long, certainly less time than I usually spend in the shower.
I'll get an electrician to have a look at it. How much am I looking at for it to be re cabled? I need 10.5k as the lower rated one didn't heat up during the winter.
Again, thanks for all the help.0
