recommend a milk frother please

Can anyone recommend a milk frother (is there such a thing?) I want it to make frothy/foamy hot chocolate for my younger children.
My husband is the only coffee drinker and he just likes plain black so we have a percolator somewhere, I only drink tea and find hot milk sooooooooooooo disgusting  ( thanks for nothing Granny!!) So I'm wanting a neat little machine to do all the stinky hot milk making for me.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks in anticipation

I had something similar to one of these a few years ago and found it worked pretty well. You have to boil the milk first though before frothing it up, it no good just warming the milk up as it may not work. I'm sure you can get cheaper versions of these as well.
You can also get milk frothers like this too which might be cheaper.
There are some more here that might be worth looking at.0 -
I use my coffee pot, the one you use for making 'proper' coffee, just put the milk in and plunge the plunger up and down, frothy milk in no time and no need to by and expensive one, or to use electricity!0

Excellent idea! Would save you from spending extra money too if you have one. Think the proper name is a cafetiere.0

dont buy one just use an empty milk carton. warm the milk and pour it into it, wrap with tea towel and shake like crazy. u will have the frothiest milk ever
do be careful tho when shaking and opening the bottleWhen you know better you do better0 -
Would it not be better to use a bottle with lid tightly close? Be careful though when opening as milk tends to expand when heated and may burst out when opened.0

sorry maybe i wasnt clear yes u definitely need to put the lid on and cover it with the tea towel and obviously not fill the bottle. i would suggest about a third full
if any worries using an empty milk carton, use a flask insteadWhen you know better you do better0 -
Flask sounds more sensible.
No, it's not 5:10pm it's 4:10pm! What's wrong with my computer? Must be 'cuase I'm using an old one at the moment. Very odd!0 -

you can actually get this from Ikea for the same price. I've got one and altho' the whisk is a bit small, you can still get an ok-ish head (of froth) on a cappuccino.0 -
Just had a look on Ikea and can't actually find one. Any idea what term/name to search for?0
